Prosports Solutions is partnering up with the Jacksonville Jaguars to become their grassroots champion for the whole of Essex. Our aim along with the Jaguars is to increase participation in American football in the UK and to provide an alternative and exciting opportunity for the inactive contingent of Essex to participate in a new sport. 

Why the uk?

American football is one of the fastest growing sports across all demographics in the UK. According to NFL UK, there are 9.9 million NFL fans, 40% of whom are aged 14-24, while 35% are female and 65% male. This growth is due, in large part, to the number of live games played in the UK and the coverage from the BBC and Sky Sports. At the forefront of American football in the UK is the Jacksonville Jaguars, the first American sports franchise to play a home game outside of the US since 2013. 2020 will see the Jaguars, for the first time, play two home games at Wembley Stadium. This influx in activity has sparked a 143% growth in the Jags fan base and allowed us to launch programmes across the UK to engage our new and existing fans. 

The origins of ‘jag tag’

Since inception in May 2015, the Jaguars in the Community launched a simplified version of American football called 'JagTag'. JagTag is now played in 19 major cities and towns across the UK and has over 70,000 children engaged in activity each week.
